Alright, darlings! Hans, aka Matt Gilbertson is back and better than ever at the Adelaide Fringe after his superstar appearance on America’s Got Talent.

Hans is no stranger to the Adelaide Fringe, and it is not hard to see why people return year after year, selling out almost every one of his shows. A fast-paced show that was full of witty humour, singing, piano accordion numbers, tap dancing, and sequins. What’s not to love about him?

The show commences with The Sound of Music’s ‘Do Re Mi’ which sees him rolling around the stage on a Lime Scooter. It wasn’t long until the signature matronly-made sequined outfits were the centre of attention. Hans cheekily strips down to reveal his extra(vagant) glittered leotard that makes him ‘look gorgeous as always honeys!’ The audience roars in laughter and excitement to see what comes next which is how the mood remained for the duration of the show.

Full of energy and self-deprecatory humour, Hans never had the audience captivated from start to finish. He picked on a few people, one in particular who was wearing a salmon coloured shirt that should’ve been ‘thrown out in the Marie Kondo process.’  Hans constantly takes the audience shticks to the edge of appropriateness and although he knows when to stop, he likes to tease it to the edge of danger.

Han’s: Like a German incorporates a little bit of everything, literally. A bit of Sound of Music. Cheeky jokes. Tap dancing. Spice Girls. The piano accordion. Feathers. And a little bit of Cold Chisel. You never know what will come next from Hans and those little glittery hot pants.

Hans is all fun and laughter. An Adelaide home-grown fabulous superstar, having the audience leave in smiles and a good energy every time. You would hate to miss this show Darling!

Hans: Like A German is on at Gluttony till March 17th. With shows selling out fast, be sure to book tickets early!
