If you haven't yet heard of The Propaganda Club, their cocktail mixologist Jade, or the soon-to-be-famous 'Prunus Avium', strap yourself in, because we're going on a wild ride.

The prohibition-style basement restaurant, lounge and cocktail bar of The Propaganda Club brings everything luxurious and opulent to the Adelaide bar scene. With 1920s New York inspired decor, the club beautifully merges innovative modern Australian dining and cocktails with old-world charm.

The entrance of the club is adorned with an eye-catching and unforgettable chandelier immersed in history, 400kg's of restored solid iron and Hungarian crystal seductively lures you into the establishment. Originally forged in Europe in the 1940s, the chandelier then came to Adelaide to adorn the Church of St Michael until the 90s, and to our luck, now stands proudly above the stairway entrance of The Propaganda Club.

Jade Dunn is a seasoned veteran in all things hospitality and a regular face mixing modern takes on classic cocktails behind the bar at The Propaganda Club. Her newest creation, the 'Prunus Avium' (Latin for Wild Cherry) has secured her one of the top 20 spots in the East London Liquor Company's cocktail competition. The cocktail uses the ELLC's premium Dry London Gin, alongside Adelaide hills' own Applewood's Cherrycello and McLaren Vale's Hedonist Shiraz for a bold and uninhibited take on an Australian infused cocktail.

"The inspiration for this cocktail came from the love I have for Gin, and a passion for cocktails with a unique twist"

The 'Prunus Avium' Cocktail by Jade Dunn

Jades creation features Native Australian ingredients like Muntrie Berries that carry the flavours of spicy apples to their in-house kitchen made Muntrie Berry syrup, curated for custom cocktails. The Cherrycello is anything but traditional in its own right, diverging from the classic Maraschino cherry taste, and instead changing the face of cherry by favouring a traditional flavour base in this insanely intense Cherrycello. Served over crushed ice in English crystal and topped with mint and dehydrated strawberries, this SA made gem will very surely be a state favourite in no time.

I highly recommend popping into The Propaganda Club to personally experience the uniqueness of the bar and Jades cocktail alike. Catch Jade behind the bar on Fridays and Saturdays after 5pm.

What has become the South Australian focal point for embracing local artists and street art, Wonderwalls has returned for another vibrant year. The festival, which harbours renown street artists like Vans The Omega, Amanda Lynn (USA), Fats (Canada), Jimmy C and Elizabeth Close, has transformed Port Adelaide into a hub of arts and culture.

The festival has added another 22 walls to its already established array of art exhibitions around the Port Adelaide centre. Take a look of the locations of the murals here for planning your next trip!

Last Thursday debuted the inaugural collection from Adelaide based fashion label, Astor + Tyne. A night of champagne, Just Bliss Chocolates, and strawberries accompanied Adelaide A-listers and hand-picked Instagram influencers for the brands 2017 Autumn/Winter runway.

The designers, Melanie and Nicola, created Astor + Tyne with luxe and love in mind. The new collection features cape jackets, cable knits, statement pants and sophisticated tops; all in blushes, blues, and their signature monochrome print.

The brand name itself is reflective of what's close to their hearts, 'Astor' comes from the legendary Lady Astor, the first female parliamentarian and former textiles trader; and 'Tyne', a nickname lovingly given to Melanie as a child by her grandfather.

I was lucky enough to be personally invited by the designers to model the gorgeous new collection on the night. Being a part of the 'Behind The Scenes' of a fashion show was a completely new and exhilarating experience. There I met Nikita Chu, the international stylist with a precise eye who helped style and coordinate the outfits ready for the runway. Among the outfits selected for me, I wore a favourite of mine, the Astound Cape Sleeve Jacket in Cobalt Blue ($249.95), and closed the show with a sneak peek print dress for the upcoming SS17 collection.

The Astor + Tyne AW17 launch was received to an amazing response from the attendees, mentioning the innovative style, couture quality, and modern edge influences throughout the range.

The AW17 is now available from their local stockists, in their online store, and coming soon to Victoria and New South Wales.
