Floating Melodies is an evening of glamour, sophistication, and fun! Hosted by the well-renown Emma Knights Productions, the Burlesque on a Boat Floating Melodies experience combines the very best in entertainment and a stellar experience for those wanting something a little bit different for their Friday night down The Port.

You might remember earlier this year, I gave one of my very few five-star fringe reviews to "Sex and the Musical" which was produced by the same company... so you KNOW Burlesque on a Boat is going to be good!

The Floating Melodies concept has spanned varied themes over multiple years, including Myth and MusicFlamenco Valentine, and Ghost Ship. Always striving to bring something different and new to the table, Emma Knights provides a two-hour cruise that includes an array of desserts from Beautiful Season Catering, and fabulous performances, all from people who are SA local and Adelaide talent (we love a home-grown cast!).

With burlesque performances that pack a whole lot of glam, sweat, sugar, sex, spice; Floating Melodies is one to remember, with the entire performance taking place on the iconic Dolphin Explorer! Combining extraordinary numbers from the musical "Burlesque" starring Cher and Christina Aguilera (which let's be honest, we know all the lyrics off by heart) I highly recommend gathering the troops for an evening you won't soon forget.

Presenting local dance and burlesque talent, with live singers:

Chantel Brandford

With the event being organised and partially choreographed by Monique Warren.

Expect a running program of fun and unique Floating Melodies performance ranging from Blues & Beers, High Choco-T, G&High-T, Sea Shanties, Arts inspired by Arts, Steam Punk, Japanese Tea Ceremony, Vikings Winter Sun, Bollywood, Pin-Ups & 50s Tunes, Moulin Rogue Cruise.

As a small local SA business, make sure that when you see the performance, leave a review and tell all your friends to spread the love!

A big thank you to Emma Knight from Emma Knights Productions
for inviting The Iconic Blonde to Floating Melodies!

For those who heard all about the Espresso Martini month-long party and festival at Florence Rooftop... the results are in! And I can say with certainty that with espresso martinis flowing all afternoon, it was one party not to be missed.

During a beautifully sunny Winter afternoon, guests gathered at Florence Rooftop to enjoy cocktails with a twist - even providing us with our own martini garnishing station. It was really entertaining and immersing to hold power over our espresso aesthetics, offering grated chocolate, popcorn, dried oranges, Oreos, coffee beans, whipped cream, shaved coconut, & more!

Announcing the day before the event (for a kick of added surprise!), Florence introduced their Frezspresso Martini, which is - you guessed it - A FROZEN ESPRESSO MARTINI! To be clear here, I loved trying all the different kinds of flavours Kahlua had available with the martinis, but the frozen espresso martini was absolutely next level fantastic. 10/10 recommend... and this will probably be my new go-to summer cocktail.

The afternoon invited guests to wear their ugliest sweaters and enjoy a relaxing but entertaining experience in a venue they might have not been to before. Florence Rooftop is one of my go-to cocktail locations, but if you haven't been there before, head into Kaffana and find your way up the stairs to the bar. Another great addition is the super friendly and nice bar staff! Pictured below, one ugly sweater and one of the great bartending team.

Extra photo: Me enjoying my espresso martini and basking in the beautiful winter sun, all thanks to Florence Rooftop! Thank you to Jasmin for inviting The Iconic Blonde along to enjoy the day.
