As my all-time favourite season rolls around, it marks the third year that The Iconic Blonde (and our writing team) are invited back as official media reviewers for the Adelaide Fringe.

To help you sift through the abundance of choice available to us in 2019, I've put together my top shows that you NEED to see this year!

THE ICONIC BLONDE'S TOP FRINGE PICKS!

Ashy Rose: Confetti (Pretty, but a bit of a mess)

Scaled untitled design

Feel like a giant mess? Not got your sh*t together? It's an unhealthy obsession with drag queens, alcohol and being such a perfectionist that nothing is done right, so you do nothing.
Adelaide born star of 'The Desperettes', Ashy Rose, returns to Fringe for her debut solo show, 'Confetti', for anyone who feels like they have no idea what they're doing.

FORTIFIED (starring Amity Dry)

Scaled fortifiedpromopichires

This is a war story. But there are no guns and ammo, just angry words and hurt pride. It's a story about blowing up your life and starting again. About divorce, love, loss and discovering a strength you never knew you had. This is Amity at her most raw and heartfelt and if you loved her smash hit '39 Forever' it is not to be missed.

Nikki Osborne - Bad Barbie

Scaled nikki 800x800

The world is rooted and Bad Barbie isn't afraid to tell you why. Amidst multiple truth bombs and wardrobe changes, Bad Barbie lets rip on all the other Barbies....and Ken.

Baby Got Back: Size Queens

Scaled bgb 2019 800x800 2

Dubbed "an uninhibited celebration of woman", Baby Got Back are fast becoming Fringe circuit favourites. A show of flesh, s*x, profanity & comedy chaos, this all-girl cast will take you on an exploration of the female form in all its glory. Smashing down the paradigms of womanhood, BGB is equal parts striptease, comedy and socio-political experiment.

Scaled french fringe

Talk dirty and stay classy with French swearing and flirting classes. All tickets include a beverage from the bar. Wednesday nights is our French Swearing class: Enjoy an hour of laughs and learning as we teach you all the rude words to say for any situation.

Scaled adelaide 2018 queen m c image

Unleash your inner queen! Queen's wild guitar dances across gender and sexual politics in an audience-empowering ride. A fierce, dark tour de force that delves into how we are all judged by our sexuality, embracing everything from Mary Magdalene to RuPaul via a Strippers Book Club.

Imagine this - spending the afternoon down by the beach, hanging out with Adelaide's most creative souls, networking and chatting about new ideas and businesses that are happening; all the while basking in the sunshine with the breeze of the beach air making you feel right at home.

The Social Network Gathering occurs every season and provides the best opportunity for you to connect yourself with the people who are doing incredible things and what's going on in Adelaide on a ground level.

Hosted by Ellery Events Australia, the Creative Director and Founder, Katelyn Ellery, hosts the events with one mantra in mind,

"You can start any business or brand, but if you don't have a community, you're no different to any other company busting their ass with the same textbook ideas that success is based on a dollar value"

Katleyn's values of community growth and creating opportunities for locals stems off the trend that she saw needed a real event for growth.

"A lot of people who come to the Social Network Gathering actually take the time to meet each other and connect. They use it as a genuine opportunity to support each one another by contributing ideas, food, wine, and sharing their stories." Katelyn says.
