“I just love how every flower can compliment each other in different ways. You can change a few colours in an arrangement and get a completely new look."
- Kalli Samaras
Centennial Florist Employee

My visit to Centennial Florist this past weekend solidified just how true that quote from Kalli, (a florist since her early teens) is in the flower world. When you allow Centennial to cater for your floral needs, they take the time to arrange the perfect bouquet for each person and every occasion.

You can expect chic colour combinations, unique Natives, weekly ever-changing floral specials and a range of versatile and non-typical flowers for single purchase or use in a bouquet. The educated florist team gives you their recommendations on colour scheme and aesthetics, but if you ever get the chance to let them run free and experiment to find a perfect, unexpected assortment, you’ll never be let down. You can find their daily updates we all need in our lives on their Instagram @CentennialFlorist.

Centennial Florist's Instagram is reason enough to come in and have a snoop!

Centennial, being a family owned business for over 70 years here in Adelaide, know their clients personally, and know what they want. That’s how they’re able to deliver such a wide selection of fresh and colourful products, and on request, right to your doorstep. Opening in 1938, the shop used to be a house, something you’ll instantly pick up on from the interior, but you’ll be surprised to know there was a stable out the back as well!

I asked how Centennial is fairing against the opening of the corporate owned flower shop down the road in Pasadena Shopping Centre. Unsurprisingly, they’re not worried. They know that large companies can afford to run at a loss, a luxury that locally owned and operated South Australian businesses cannot do. But Centennial is known as ‘The Florist of The South’, a title they hold close to their hearts, and they know that a personalised family touch and customer service that is second to none, is all they need to compete in the flower market.

The owner passes his savings straight onto the customer, ensuring every week there is a different combination of inexpensive bunches for purchase. The ideals they hold include not looking at others as a competition, but working together to adapt and change in a market where they can listen and respond to customer wants and needs.

Being in a perfect location at 653 Goodwood Road, Panorama, across from the Centennial Cemetery, Centennial Florist provides for all occasions. Next time there’s a Birthday, Farewell, Congratulations, or just picking up something for you Mother or Missus on the way home, Centennial has you covered. Especially when you take into account that they’re open every day of the year!

Welcome to The Iconic Blonde!

Suiting right? I've always said my hair is my identity, and what better way than to name my blog after what encapsulates me as a person the most?

Blondes do have more fun.

And that's why I've put this blog together. I'm a young, 21 year old empowered woman, who loves to explore, uncover, adventure and learn new things about the world every single day.

I'm constantly searching for the next event, day trip, art installation, bar, boutique, product, style, performance, festival, or anything where people can express themselves and project what's make them happy, individual and creatively fulfilled.

So follow me along in this journey, I'll make it as fun and memorable as I can.
