Groovin The Moo had a overwhelming sense of comradery as all who attended stormed the muddy trenches of the Oakbank based event on the all to relative Anzac Day (I can say this, I'm the daughter of a Vet). Distasteful jokes aside, the day was one to be remembered, like the #GroovinTheMud hashtag gaining traction as fast as we were sinking into the never ending wasteland of mud, only finding solice on a stable discarded beer can before stumbling and praying to the many gods not to join the fate of others who had gone down in the fight against tomorrow's dirty washing.

Other than the already discussed mud-issue, the event itself was euphoric. Whether this was caused by the amazing line-up and performances, or the over-consumption of $11 Double Blacks and other substances, I'll never know - and nor do I want to find out.

We all had our lineups printed out, written down and inputed into our alarms, how did yours fair against mine?

The car ride to Oakbank was a riot in itself, once we had laughed so hard we nearly reached the same fate of the girls wearing crop tops and shorts squatting on the side of the road to deal with their business in an oh-so ladylike manner, it was time for what was the choatic spectacle of enjoyment at GTM Oakbank 2015.

Here are my favourites:

STICKY FINGERS
Of course. One act I was determined I wasn't going to miss, I ditched the search of pre-organised meetings with friends and ventured through the crowds to find a spot to watch the band on my own. And it was worth it, chilled tunes and crowd surfing made the start of my time at GTM a great one. Don't forget the name.

New to Stickies? My favourites are:

SAN CISCO
I missed my chance to see San Cisco last time they toured AUS, and they were worth the wait, even if I could barely hear them over my off tune recital of their lyrics. It amazed me the quality of their performance and how much similar they sounded to their albums. I went off when they played 'Too Much Time Together' from their latest album "Gracetown", which I highly recommend to have a good listen to. Seriously good band.
Lucky for us, San Cisco has also just announced that they are adding an Adelaide show to their Aus Gracetown tour, tickets at $40. Who's coming with me?

Enjoy my spur of the moment recording

NOTABLE MENTIONS

Tkay Maidza
This girl can do no wrong, I remember seeing her in one of her earliest public performances in 2010, and the crowd still loves her all the same.

Hot Dub Time Machine
As I've never been to a Hot Dub event, all I had heard was 1. It was good and 2. It played old music. I felt like if I wanted to listen to The Backstreet Boys I would head out to VIVA on a Friday night with my Mum. I did not expect the amazing mixes and heavy ACDC plays that topped off the night for me and seriously made me rethink what I once knew and jump to the next opportunity to see the event live again.

I didn't have any opportunities to take a shot of my outfit for the event, as in the morning I was too busy drinking myself into a comfortable tipsyness before leaving, and the mud scared my inner soul to ever let someone handle my phone on which could turn into another ruined iPhone for 2015, but to summarise I wore:

Kitti Sunglasses by Quay Australia
Pastel Pink One Day Colour by Brite Organix
Chrome Tank by The Fitfh Label
Jacket by Jay Jays
High Licks by Lee Jeans
Black Gumboots by Target

All up it was a day to remember, we laughed over friends having to be pulled from the mud by security guards and danced with our hands in the air to our favourite bands and tracks for a solid day out in the fresh country air.

What was your favourite part of Groovin The Moo 2015?

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for my local op-shops. I've been going frequently since I was a young, (and poor) high school student where I would skip my classes to visit my local Vinnies, hunting for any items I could pass off in my day-to-day wear or vintage outfits inspired by Ke$ha in the height of her 2010 fame.
I still have some of the items I purchased years ago, permanently added to my wardrobe and there to bring up recurring memories of how happy I was when I found them. My all time favourite thrift was a little 70's teardrop style bag, decorated with genuine leather, reed weaving and an all too relative orange and mustard floral lining.
Ever since I've always made time to explore the op-shops available in my area, being the current uni holidays, I ventured out to scavenge the shelves and find myself some hidden Adelaide gems. So in no order, here are:

My Top 4 Local Op-Shops

1. Aggie's Op Shop

St Augustine's Anglican Church Unley, 183 Unley Road, Unley

Aggies, based in the St AA Church in Unley has a beautiful Victorian era exterior and features multiple water fountains upon entrance. It feels like the place is run by your Grandma, and has a huge selection of coats and jackets. Hello Winter.

2. Rotary Club of Unley

130 Unley Road, Unley

Just down the road is the Rotary Club. Opposite A Mother's Milk and a shop or two down from Pickle in the Middle, it has a seriously good selection. This smaller shop has some quite distinct labels and higher end products available, not one to miss off you list!

3. Salvos Kings Park
307 Goodwood Road, Kings Park

The Salvos are a staple for any new and emerging thrifters. There's not much else to say but they have a great system and range. Going in there today, I felt like a kid in a candy shop, having to fight myself over which items I actually needed in my wardrobe (A true born and raised impulse buyer here). Once I skipped my initial glazed over appearance, I had an armful of stock within the first five minutes, but the true diamond in this store is their backroom. Literally filled with every glass ornament that has ever decorated a home, and a secret stash of furniture begging to be up-cycled for your next project, or just because the chair there looks similar to the rest of the unfinished set, sitting in the dining room of your first share-house. The Salvation Army stores also offer a great weekly mix of discounts, with Students grabbing a 20% discount when showing your Student ID on Wednesdays.

4. Vinnies Hawthorn

21 Abbotshall Road, Hawthorn

Say Hello to my all-time favourite Op-Shop. If there could be a hidden gem full of hidden gems, this is it. The place I've found my all time favourite thrifts, and the store which fuelled my obsession with op-shopping. The only thing about this shop I curse, is the amount of items I have to put back because they didn't fit. RIP the Red Boots and loungey denim wash jeans from today.

I ventured out today in a few of my day-to-day staples. Enjoy my first Outfit of the Day post, and seemingly deathless expression. Taken outside of St Aggie's and enjoying the first fall from Autumn.

OOTD details:
Kitti Sunglasses by Quay Australia
I See You T-shirt by The Fifth Label
High Licks by Lee Jeans
Toffee by Lipstick Shoes

Drumroll please, the moment we've been waiting for and I'm finally ready to show you guys my thrifts from today. I am so happy with what I got, and it really showed me that I never know what I'm going to find when I spend the day op-shopping.
Sass and Bide Denim Jeans - $6 Vinnies Hawthorn
Black Patent Skinny Pumps - $19.25 Salvos Kings Park
(Not Pictured) Denim Blue Jeans - $7.25 Salvos Kings Park

Including my Student Discount from the Salvos, today's purchases came to a total of $29.85, it's hard not to be ecstatic when I've added a few well-needed items to my winter wardrobe, by expanding my all too small jean collection and grabbing a pair of unused pumps to match with my daily worn denim.

Happy Op-Shopping my fellow thrifters!

The Australis AC on Tour Kit (Or 'A Contour Kit' for those who caught on) has been generating a lot of hype in our Priceline stores since it's Limited Edition release in October 2014. And for good reason, one of the first comprehensive, and more affordable kits available to us Australian ladies, and for only $16.95 is a steal and well-needed addition to your ever-growing collection.

This vegan-friendly palette, which is a quite clear dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette, available at Sephora (Which we are not expecting in Adelaide anytime soon!) contain 6 shades, made up of 3 Highlighters and 3 Contour colours.

The shades include:
Vanilla - Matte Highlight Shade with Pink Undertone
Banana - Matte Highlight Shade with Yellow Undertone
Sand - Shimmery Highlight with Golden Undertone

Java - Matte Contour Shade, Mid-Brown
Fawn - Matte Contour Shade, Milk Chocolate
Havana - Matte Contour Shade, Reddish Brown

One suggestion I would make is use this product sparingly! The shades are extremely pigmented, so especially when contouring, start small and build up to your desired look to spare your cheekbones looking muddy or too dark. Application can be easily understood from the step-by-step instructions on the back of the palette or by following Ruby Golani's video tutorial below!

If I was you, I would drive straight to my local Priceline and pick one up if you see it, as it runs in very high demand and catching a glimpse of a fully stocked shelf is somewhat mythical in the Make-Up Addiction community. If that doesn't convince you, Australis currently has a 3-for-2 sale at Priceline until the 15th of April as well!

For the price and quality of this well-rounded palette, I have been recommended to use and recommended it to any girl wanting to get her hands on an effective contour addition and I personally rate this as my favourite palette. Go get it!

What's your favourite AC on Tour shade?

More than anything lately, I love a lace up heel. Nothing is more refreshing than having a pair to throw on and add instant appeal to any outfit. Lace-up heels have the ability to dress up jeans, a shirt-dress on a lazy day, or cute culottes!
Coming in all shapes and sizes you can find this new trend in thick or thin heels, boots, bulky laces, stilettos, or a Rihanna-esque Louboutin pump.
I have a slight crush towards the black lace-ups, seeing as they provide such an easy transition between day and night!
Lace-Ups are needed and may I say sexy staple for your upcoming Winter collection.
Trust me on this one

Affordable Girls Version:
NANO by Lipstik Shoes
Available in Black, Black/White, White and Ocelot.
$79.95

I myself have these in Black Cobra.
My favourite combination is to match these shoes with a Black and White stripe, and a bright pop of colour to bring the outfit together,
Red for a standout look, or pink for something more feminine.

How do you wear your Lace-Up Heels?
