Last year, CLIQUE Magazine announced during the Adelaide Fashion Festival that they were ceasing the print of their physical magazine to continue their top-notch fashion journalism on their online platform.

But 2018 has brought us great things.

Just in time for AFF, CLIQUE Magazine has announced their official RE-LAUNCH of their print magazine! Being brought back to life with a new, modern and innovative layout, accompanied by profiles and stories of Adelaide's best-hidden gems, the CLIQUE is back.

We were lucky enough to experience the re-launch of the magazine first hand at the VIP CLIQUE Re-Launch Party at Cult & Harper!

During the event, CLIQUE addressed the crowd to thank the ongoing support that the team has felt by the Adelaide community, and to thank the sponsors for giving them the opportunity for the magazine to move forward.

The amazing space at Cult & Harper was the perfect backdrop for the party which included familiar faces in publishing, Adelaide business, creative industries, and influencers. The space that features art a variety of mixed media installations, showcase the ever-changing tapestry that is local art.

“There’s a perception that the fashion industry doesn’t care about ethics,” Selena Battersby, Editor of Clique (print) says.
“We’re going to show you how to think differently…consider this our little piece to inspire, shine light on new talent, and to show things in a new way."

We’ve deliberated over each and everything in this issue. The stories we tell are important and inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder of the magazine as a whole.” Selena says.
Welcome to the new CLIQUE!

Adelaide’s newest couture label, SHADOR, has officially launched its brand at the historic Norwood Town Hall while showcasing their glamorous SS18 collection.

Guests were treated to a glass of bubbles on arrival as well as an obligatory insta-worthy cheese platter from Persian Creation that satisfied everyone’s cravings.

On the runway, the collection featured an array of beautifully made dresses and jumpsuits - with care and love shown in every detail.

Our writer Tayla's favourite piece!

Guests watched in adoration over the intricate pieces that were made to suit a versatile size range. The elegant gowns, most richly embellished, sparkled beautifully down the runway. The designer’s traditional Persian background inspired the beaded designs which incorporated parallel bands filled with floral ornamentation and rich patterns.

Each piece was unique in colour which included deep tones of red, electric blues, midnight black, and frosty whites.

My stand out piece of the collection was a gorgeous frosted white wedding dress with a descending neckline. It was beautifully beaded with gold and specs of silver details. Not to mention the way that the soft, flowing fabric fell to the ground, highlighting beauty and elegance.

We were lucky enough to meet the gorgeous SHADOR designer, Shahrza Ravaji, after the show. With a contagious smile and excitement, you could truly tell how proud she was of her collection.

She explained that each piece was created ‘from the soul’ which was clear from the quality and attention to detail the designs had. She is a passionate and enthusiastic designer who strives to one day see SHADOR The Label grace the runways of Milan or Paris Fashion Week.

Congratulations to Shahrza for the gorgeous launch, I truly believe that your future is looking fab! Feel free to visit their website at shadorlabel.com and Instagram, @shadorlabel.

Based on the book ‘First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong’, First Man the film takes us inside the minds of Neil Armstrong (Played by Ryan Gosling) and his loved ones, giving us a captivating, intimate peek into the personal and professional life of the reclusive space pilot who plays such a pivotal role in modern history.
First Man has already garnered critical acclaim for its stunning cinematics and its very real view of the life behind the man leading up to the moon landing on July 20, 1969.
First Man encapsulates the heartache and suffering that was felt by the community after the death of test pilot and engineer, Ed White, as well as Neil’s own personal struggles with the sudden and tragic loss of his young daughter.
Director, Damien Chazelle, has taken a classic tale and turned it into an immersive cinematic experience that shows a real side to the romanticised idea of space travel that we all grew up knowing.
Although we all know how the story will end, Chazelle has managed to create a suspense that will have you on the edge of your seats for the entirety of the film, showing the harrowing test sequences that loomed over the pilots family during the lead up to the history-making event.

Overall, First Man provides an out-of-this-world storytelling spin on a classic tale, and cinematics that will have you wondering if they really did send lead actor, Ryan Gosling, up into space for the shoot.
Thank you to NBC Universal for inviting us along to this fantastic movie!
