Based on the book ‘First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong’, First Man the film takes us inside the minds of Neil Armstrong (Played by Ryan Gosling) and his loved ones, giving us a captivating, intimate peek into the personal and professional life of the reclusive space pilot who plays such a pivotal role in modern history.
First Man has already garnered critical acclaim for its stunning cinematics and its very real view of the life behind the man leading up to the moon landing on July 20, 1969.
First Man encapsulates the heartache and suffering that was felt by the community after the death of test pilot and engineer, Ed White, as well as Neil’s own personal struggles with the sudden and tragic loss of his young daughter.
Director, Damien Chazelle, has taken a classic tale and turned it into an immersive cinematic experience that shows a real side to the romanticised idea of space travel that we all grew up knowing.
Although we all know how the story will end, Chazelle has managed to create a suspense that will have you on the edge of your seats for the entirety of the film, showing the harrowing test sequences that loomed over the pilots family during the lead up to the history-making event.

Overall, First Man provides an out-of-this-world storytelling spin on a classic tale, and cinematics that will have you wondering if they really did send lead actor, Ryan Gosling, up into space for the shoot.
Thank you to NBC Universal for inviting us along to this fantastic movie!
