STOP! Look no further – because the drama and action-filled hit of 2018 is here! We were able to score a first film viewing of ‘Skyscraper’ – the newest flick out that will leave you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Read our thoughts below!
**SPOILER WARNING**
Special Ops agent Will Ford (Dwayne Johnson) retires and starts up his own security firm after being injured during a hostage situation and losing his leg. Proceeding this, he receives word of a security job in China from his somewhat shady ex-special forces partner, played by Orange Is The New Black’s very own Pablo Schreiber.
Will is tasked to perform the security and safety checks on Hong Kong’s new skyscraper which he deems to be the tallest and safest building in the world. However, things take a turn for the worst when the incredible mega-structure is suddenly set ablaze by terrorists trapping his two kids, his wife (Neve Campbell) and his boss (Ng Chin Han) inside.
Skyscraper is certainly reminiscent of the 1988 classic Die Hard and accurately pays the film homage with its grandiose, all out stunts and cinematography that span throughout the entire length of the film; such as when we get to see the Rock leap off of a crane into the mid-section of a 225-story flaming building.
Over all, Skyscraper provides viewers with limitless explosions; and being a PG movie, will definitely have thirteen-year-old’s around Australia laughing and throwing their popcorn in the air at all the small but many instances of mild suspense this film has to offer.
