Tayla in Oz is a delightful little cabaret with a tremendous amount of heart. Tayla Alexander shares her and her family's journey from South Africa to Australia with warmth, humour, big smiles and confident vocals, weaving in songs from The Wizard of Oz and Wicked.

This is the kind of show Fringe should be about: a snapshot into a talented young artist’s world, and a generous reminder you don’t need a whole Emerald City to feel at home. The songs are fun, the tone rises and falls, and it’s basically guaranteed to make you smile.

I think you’d have to be made of straw to think this isn’t enriching. It hands out heart, courage, brains. If you don’t make time for shows like this, you’re missing out, and you might need to follow the yellow brick road again.
