BAD BARBIE - ADELAIDE FRINGE REVIEW

Scaled nikki 800x800

Written by Taysharna Berger

If Barbie’s Dream House dream house was a mansion, it’s only fitting that Bad Barbie would find a home in Gluttony. Nikki Osborne’s Bad Barbie is a modern superhero with a drink in her hand and her middle finger up.

As a Barbie obsessed millennial, Nikki Osborne’s Bad Barbie is the pink, blonde, tell-it-like-it-is icon I didn’t grow up with but wish I did. She’s sassy, smart and knows how to tell a #MeToo joke in a sequin dress like a true comedy queen; and when it comes to controversy, she’s not afraid to drop a few Harvey Weinstein jokes between musical numbers donning a glitter cowboy hat and spilling the tea on all our favourite childhood toys.

Nikki Osborne's original, creative and refreshing take on the world through Bad Barbie’s eyes makes it a stand out show that proves yet again women can be funny AND sexy.

If you’re looking for a comedian who isn’t ashamed to say they've thought about being on the bachelor, they wish they had a more lucrative Me Too experience and sometimes, they’ve just had enough of everyone’s shit, then Nikki Osborne's Bad Barbie is for you.

Oh, and I’ll never look at my Childhood Barbie collection the same again.
