Be prepared to send your tastebuds straight to the Middle East and enjoy the harmonic vocals from popular Lebanese singer, Fairouz.
Rami states that it was a no brainer to name the café after the famous Lebanese singer as well as have ‘Painted by Iman’ create a mural of her on the café wall, “in my hometown everyone loves Fairouz as she is quite the icon and often played in the morning on Arabic radio stations to get the day started.”
“She is a music legend who has had a major influence on contemporary Arab music and culture, we can’t get enough of her!”
Café Fairouz doesn’t believe it’s necessary to alter its authentic cooking techniques and recipes like many other Middle Eastern restaurants in Adelaide may do to cater for western tastebuds, “Our food is exactly how we would eat at home, delicious, simple and full of flavour,” says Raqeb.
“We have many plans in the works to collaborate with other local Middle Eastern businesses such Masterchef personalities, Sassi Ice Cream found at the Adelaide Central Market and the Fresh Prince of Baklava,” Raqeb says.
